I cannot even begin to fathom what my great grandmother must have felt given that she had barely survived pulling a handcart across the plains to Utah; and then, very shortly after arriving in Utah placed in a polygamous marriage that you believe God wants for you.
July 24th, a day where Mormons celebrate pioneers and known as Pioneer Day, is the day where I began my own public celebration of being able to escape from the clutches of Mormonism by posting on this blog.
To set the stage, it is important to understand that the majority of my life was spent believing in and practicing Mormonism. Much of my world views were created and structured within this belief system.
